The Minnesota Lynx head to San Francisco on Friday night for one of the most intriguing WNBA games of the weekend. Minnesota enters the contest with the league's best record at 12-3, while the Golden State Valkyries have quickly established themselves as a legitimate contender at 10-5. Both teams have built their success around elite defense, which creates an interesting dynamic with the Lynx favored by a small margin on the road. Minnesota has been dominant through the opening weeks despite playing without Napheesa Collier, while Golden State continues to exceed expectations behind the strong play of Gabby Williams and Veronica Burton.
Minnesota owns the edge in several key areas entering this game. The Lynx lead the matchup in offensive rating, net rating, rebounding, and overall scoring production. Courtney Williams has been outstanding, while rookie Olivia Miles continues to look like one of the league's brightest young stars. Minnesota is averaging 93.1 points per game while allowing just 79.7.
Golden State deserves plenty of respect at home. The Valkyries have already proven they can compete with elite teams and have one of the strongest defensive units in the WNBA. Gabby Williams is averaging 16.3 points per game and has become the focal point of the offense. The concern for Golden State is that Minnesota has already demonstrated the ability to slow the Valkyries' half-court attack, and the Lynx possess more scoring options. Expect a competitive game throughout, but Minnesota's efficiency advantage should be enough to secure a road victory and cover a short number.
Parlay Odds: +625
The first leg backs the stronger overall team. Minnesota owns the better offensive rating and net rating while entering the game in excellent form. The second leg targets a total that appears slightly high given the defensive strength of both clubs. Golden State plays one of the slower styles in the league and has consistently held opponents below their season scoring averages.
The final leg focuses on Courtney Williams. Her ability to create offense off the dribble is especially valuable against a disciplined defense. Minnesota will likely lean heavily on Williams in key possessions, making her scoring prop attractive.
Olivia Miles Over 6.5 Assists +116
Miles continues to showcase elite playmaking skills and enters this matchup averaging 5.7 assists per game. Golden State's defensive pressure often forces the ball out of primary scorers' hands, creating opportunities for distributors to pile up assists. Minnesota's offense has enough shooting and finishing talent to convert the chances Miles creates, making the over appealing at this number.
Category | Minnesota Lynx | Golden State Valkyries |
|---|---|---|
Offensive Rating | 114.1 | 110.3 |
Defensive Rating | 98.0 | 102.1 |
Net Rating | +16.1 | +8.2 |

Golden State has built a strong defensive identity and should keep this game competitive in front of its home crowd. Still, Minnesota has been the more complete team through the first month of the season. The Lynx generate offense more efficiently, own a significant edge in net rating, and have multiple players capable of taking over a game offensively. With Courtney Williams and Olivia Miles leading the attack, Minnesota is in a favorable position to earn another victory.
