- Las Vegas is just 2-4 against the spread to start this season.
- The Wings have the size from Teaira McCowan and the explosive guard play to keep this game competitive at home.
Last season, the Dallas Wings and Las Vegas Aces met in the postseason, with the Aces advancing in that series en route to a second straight championship. On Wednesday, they meet for the first time since that playoff series, as the Wings look to avenge that postseason loss on their home floor. Here, we make our WNBA betting picks for Aces vs Wings from Arlington.
This game will be played at College Park Center at 8:00 PM ET on Wednesday, June 5, 2024.
Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces are off to a 4-2 start to their season, which is good for fifth place in the league standings entering Wednesday night. The Aces have been without starting point guard Chelsea Gray early in the season, making a team that relies on its starters even less deep than normal early in the year. The question is now whether they can get a key road win with or without Gray tonight against the Wings.
Vegas has struggled to defend Teaira McCowan at times over the last couple of years, as they typically don’t rely on a traditional center to be a major contributor for them. But the Aces also have some of the best three-point shooting in the league to offset that. Vegas will be happy to play with pace against a Wings team that loves to do the same, which should make tonight’s Aces vs Wings matchup an entertaining one regardless of outcome.
Dallas Wings
The Dallas Wings are 3-4 to start the 2024 WNBA season. Dallas nearly beat the Connecticut Sun on the road on Friday before losing to the Minnesota Lynx by double-digits to close out a five-game road trip. Dallas returns home tonight, as they play in their first home game since their second game of the season in the first week of the year.
For Dallas to have success in their return to their home floor, they are going to need to find a way to defend the perimeter effectively. Vegas has so many quality three-point shooters, with A’ja Wilson able to score inside of the arc so effectively that you can’t give your full attention to the outside. Defending the Aces is not an enviable task, but Dallas will have to find a way to do it if they want a chance to win this one.
