- The Fever are allowing the most points per game of any team in the WNBA this season.
- While the Dream have struggled offensively this year, this is the perfect opponent to help them buck that trend.
The rookie season of Caitlin Clark has not gone according to plan so far for the Indiana Fever, with their last outing serving as a microcosm of their year as a whole. Tonight, the Fever hope to bounce back from a resounding defeat at the hands of the Connecticut Sun, when they host Rhyne Howard and the Atlanta Dream. Here, you will find our WNBA betting picks for Dream vs Fever from Indianapolis.
This game will be played at 7:00 PM ET at Gainbridge Fieldhouse on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
Atlanta Dream
Through their first 10 games, the Atlanta Dream are 5-5 and in sixth place in the WNBA standings. Atlanta suffered an indignity of their own on Tuesday, getting blown out at home by the Washington Mystics, in Washington’s first win of the 2024 season. The Dream will look to bounce back from that embarrassing defeat here against a Fever team that could be a good matchup for them.
Atlanta’s struggles offensively have been well-documented going into this Dream vs Fever matchup. The Dream are averaging 75.8 points per game on the year, which ranks 11th out of 12 WNBA teams. But the Dream are playing against the worst defensive team in the WNBA in the Fever tonight. As a result, we could see the Dream have a breakout performance on the offensive end of the floor, something they desperately need.
Indiana Fever
The Indiana Fever are in 11th place in the WNBA standings going into Thursday night’s action. They are 3-10 and are coming off of a blowout loss themselves, as they were crushed in Connecticut by the Sun. In that game, Caitlin Clark barely played in the second half due to the lopsided margin in the game, as Indiana will hope to have more reason to keep her on the floor in this contest.
Depth and defense have been the two sore spots for the Fever so far this season. Outside of their top-five scorers, the Fever don’t have a player averaging more than six points per game on the year. When you struggle to get stops, you need scoring from more than just your best players, which is not something the Fever have been able to rely on much in 2024.
