The Toronto Raptors are playing their fourth road game in a row when they face the LA Clippers on Wednesday night. To make matters worse, they are coming off of a game in Denver against the Nuggets, in the high altitude of the Mile High City. Expect a fatigued Raptors squad as a result of their grueling travel itinerary of late, which will help the Clippers win this contest.
Los Angeles, meanwhile, has had a ton of rest going into this contest. They enjoyed a comeback win over the Memphis Grizzlies at home on Sunday, and have not had to play since. Expect Kawhi Leonard and Paul George to not only play after so much rest, but for both of them to be fresh as Leonard should play well against his former team.
Pick 2: Over 230
The Clippers have a reputation of being a stout defensive team, thanks in large part to the perimeter defense of Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. But the Clippers have been struggling on the defensive end of the floor of late, allowing 128.5 points per game over their last two games against the Grizzlies and Kings. Here, we should see both offenses perform well once again.
Look for the three-point shooters on both teams to be especially effective, as the Clippers showed against the Grizzlies last time out that they are susceptible to defensive lapses around the perimeter. Fortunately for the Clippers, they have the scoring to make up for any defensive troubles they have, but LA should win a high-scoring affair here.
Pick 3: Pascal Siakam Under 22.5 Points
The final leg of our Raptors vs Clippers SGP focuses on the performance of Raptors All-Star Pascal Siakam. While we expect a high-scoring game here, we should see Siakam underwhelm, as he has not been at his best recently. Siakam has failed to score over 20 points in four straight games, and we will gladly take his under at 22.5 here.
Something to look out for with Siakam is who guards him on the Clippers throughout this game. Kawhi Leonard has familiarity with him from their time together in Toronto. But no matter who guards him, Siakam’s struggles shooting the basketball will continue, while it will be other Raptors that help push this game over the total.
