The 2026 NBA Finals shift to Madison Square Garden on Monday night with the New York Knicks holding a commanding 2-0 series lead over the San Antonio Spurs. New York stole both games in Texas, including a dramatic 105-104 victory in Game 2 after surviving a late San Antonio rally. The pressure now falls squarely on Victor Wembanyama and the Spurs, who must find a way to win on the road against a Knicks team that has been exceptional in close games throughout the postseason. With the Garden hosting its first NBA Finals game in more than two decades, the atmosphere should be one of the biggest factors in Spurs vs Knicks Game 3.
New York has won both Finals games despite stretches where San Antonio appeared to have control. Jalen Brunson wasn't great down the stretch in Game 2, but the Knicks have received strong contributions from Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby, and Mikal Bridges. The Knicks also enter Game 3 with the confidence that comes from winning 13 consecutive playoff games.
San Antonio remains dangerous because of Wembanyama's ability to dominate both ends of the floor. He had a huge second half in Game 2 and continues to create matchup problems. However, the Spurs have struggled with late-game execution, and the hostile environment at Madison Square Garden creates an even tougher assignment for them. Until San Antonio proves it can close out a tight Finals game, the edge belongs to New York.
Parlay Odds: +490
New York has already taken the first two games and now returns home with the crowd fully behind it. Wembanyama should continue carrying a massive offensive workload with the Spurs facing a 0-2 deficit. Meanwhile, Game 2 finished just below the total despite extended stretches of poor shooting, creating value on a slightly higher-scoring contest in Game 3 as we get some positive regression on offense on both sides.
Jalen Brunson Over 32.5 Points + Assists -118
Brunson has been the most reliable late-game performer in this postseason despite struggling in Game 2. He continues to handle the ball on nearly every critical possession. With New York playing at home and the offense running through its All-Star guard, combining points and assists provides a strong path to cashing this prop.

San Antonio has shown enough through two games to suggest this series is closer than the 2-0 score indicates. Wembanyama remains the best defensive player on the floor and is capable of producing a signature Finals performance at any time. The Spurs also own strong season-long efficiency numbers and have consistently responded well after losses throughout the year.
Still, Game 3 sets up favorably for New York. The Knicks have already accomplished their objective by winning twice in Texas, and now they return to one of the loudest arenas in basketball with momentum in their corner. Brunson should bounce back and shine in pressure situations, while Towns and Anunoby give New York multiple scoring options around him. With the Spurs facing growing pressure and the Knicks carrying home-court advantage plus a 2-0 lead, backing New York to win and cover the short number is my preferred play here.
