The Chicago Bulls come into Thursday night off of a loss, having fallen to the Memphis Grizzlies on the road in their last outing. Chicago led that game after three quarters, but were blown away in the fourth quarter to seal their fate. Now Chicago will look to take advantage of the shorthanded Nets to get back into the win column.
Chicago has not been a good team on the road so far this season, going just 10-17 away from United Center. But this game is a little unique, in that their opponent is going to be all over the place after making a series of trades at the deadline. If Chicago cannot take advantage of that, it may be time for them to start turning their attention toward next year’s draft.
Brooklyn Nets
The Brooklyn Nets have lost two straight games coming into Thursday night, though they have faced some extenuating circumstances. After trading away Kyrie Irving, the Nets have lost to the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns. Now they face another team with playoff aspirations in the Bulls, after trading away Kevin Durant as well.
Durant had not been playing due to injury for the Nets, so it is not as if his absence will impact the on-court performance of the current group compared to their last few games. But the Nets are pretty thin in the reserve department right now, as they wait for the trio of players they acquired from Phoenix in the Durant deal to join them. Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith should be available here, but this roster has been downgraded from what it was just a couple of weeks ago.
