The Sanderson Farms Championship used to be an alternate event for the WGC-HSBC Champions, but it will be a standalone event for the second straight year when the PGA Tour players in the field tee off at the Country Club of Jackson. This is another weak field with back-to-back events in Las Vegas with bigger purses on the horizon, but that doesn’t mean that we can’t make some money.
Scottie Scheffler returns the COVID-19 positive test that forced him to withdraw from the U.S. Open and he is the +900 favorite at BetMGM Sportsbook for the event. Sungjae Im finished second to Sebastian Munoz last season. Im is the second favorite at +1600 with Louis Oosthuizen out of the field with a withdrawal. Munoz is +3000, which puts him fifth on the board behind Korn Ferry Tour points leader Will Zalatoris at +1800 and Byeong Hun An at +2500.
There are some pretty interesting players in the +3000 to +4000 range like Adam Long, who has a couple top-25 finishes recently and has been in good form, and Doc Redman and Corey Conners, two strong ball strikers that can’t putt particularly well.
Carlos Ortiz is +6000 with back-to-back top-five finishes in this event and last week’s winner, Hudson Swafford, is +6600 off of his Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship victory.
As far as the analysis for the tournament goes, we’ll leave that up to Brian Blessing with his ATS YouTube video featuring picks and predictions for this week’s PGA Tour event:
