Continue reading for our prediction ahead of South Florida vs Alabama from Tuscaloosa.
USF In For a Tough Day In Tuscaloosa
The South Florida Bulls opened their season with a game against an FCS opponent, beating up on Bethune Cookman in a 48-3 victory at home. That is all fine and good, but it is in no way a good way to prepare for a road game against the Alabama Crimson Tide. Ready or not, USF will need to give everything they've got if they want any chance in this non-conference matchup.
Of course, USF did give Alabama a difficult game last season when they hosted the Crimson Tide in the first leg of this home-and-home series. They did a nice job of limiting the Alabama offense in that contest. But Alabama has really put things together offensively since then and it would be difficult to see the Bulls locking down Jalen Milroe and the Alabama offense in a similar fashion this time around.
Alabama Looks to Dominate For Second Straight Week
In Week 1 of the 2024 college football season, the Alabama Crimson Tide got a win, destroying the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers by a score of 63-0. While Western Kentucky is by no means the toughest opponent in the world, the Tide were impressive in Kalen DeBoer's first game as the new head coach of the program, playing at a high level on both sides of the ball. Jalen Milroe and company will look to replicate that performance in this USF vs Alabama matchup, as the Tide look to get off to a 2-0 start.
Last week, Milroe only attempted nine passes for Alabama, who went into halftime with a 42-0 lead over the Hilltoppers. He may need to play a little more in this game for Alabama to put things away, but the Tide are still expected to win handily even if Milroe doesn't average 22.2 yards per pass attempt like he did in his team's season opener.
South Florida vs Alabama Best Bet
At this time last season, Alabama's offense was a legitimate point of concern. This year, that is not the case, as the Crimson Tide appear to have found their footing on that side of the ball with Milroe leading them on the field and DeBoer leading them off of it. We will lay the points with Alabama in this contest, as they should run up the score in a big way for the second week in a row here.
