But Buffalo could be in for a world of hurt this weekend when they travel to Columbia to take on a top-10 team on the road. While the Bulls are huge underdogs in this contest, they will hope that their defense can hold up well enough to give them a shot in this matchup.
Quarterback CJ Ogbonna’s performance in this game will be key for the Bulls as well. He wasn’t great against Lafayette, completing just 14 of his 24 pass attempts for 195 yards and two touchdowns. He will need to do a lot more than that if the Bulls are going to have a shot at an upset on Saturday evening.

The Missouri Tigers got a win in their first game of the 2024 season, beating up on FCS Murray State at home by a score of 51-0. This game wasn’t all that helpful in Mizzou’s quest to be considered an elite team this season, but the Tigers have to be feeling good going into this week’s action where they will be expected to improve to 2-0 with a win over Buffalo out of the MAC.
Missouri’s defense was impressive in Week 1, even by the standards of a team playing against an FCS opponent. The Tigers held Murray State to just 86 yards of offense in one of the most lopsided games of Week 1. While they may not be able to uphold that same standard against an FBS opponent, it would take a ton for Buffalo to move the ball consistently against the Tigers in this non-conference matchup.
