Here, Akron is once again in a tough position as they are on the road against Rutgers, the second Big Ten opponent on their schedule in as many weeks.

But the Zips need to find a way to generate some offense, which they were not able to do in Week 1. Akron had just 177 yards of offense against the Buckeyes and will need to do much more than that to avoid a second loss in a row to a power conference foe.

The Rutgers Scarlet Knights beat FCS Howard by a score of 44-7 in Week 1 in Piscataway. That result was never really in doubt and this week’s isn’t expected to be either, as Rutgers is a huge favorite in this Akron vs Rutgers matchup. But there are no sure things in college football and the Scarlet Knights will still need to play a strong game for four quarters to make sure they don’t end up on upset alert.
Rutgers’ offense was incredibly productive against Howard, racking up 476 yards of total offense compared to just 262 yards of offense for Howard.
