The First Four concludes Wednesday night with a battle of two teams from out West. Nevada, from the Mountain West Conference, will look to beat the Pac-12’s Arizona State Sun Devils in a game both teams need to win to make the full NCAA Tournament bracket. The winner of this game will be the 11th seed in the West Region and will play the #6 TCU Horned Frogs in the First Round. Why Bet on Arizona State:
✅ Arizona State made a run to the Pac-12 semifinals and will be confident heading into this First Four game.
✅ The Sun Devils do have the talent advantage and Desmond Cambridge, the former Wolf Pack player, will be the best player on the court.
✅ Nevada enters in bad form having gone 0-3 in their last three games and 2-4 in their last six.

Nevada Wolf Pack – They Got Lucky
Nevada enters this game losing three straight games and were ousted in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference Tournament. The Wolf Pack used a big second half comeback to force overtime, but ultimately lost 81-77 to the San Jose State Spartans.
The last team into the bracket, the Wolf Pack had a much less deserving resume than the first two teams – Oklahoma State and Rutgers – left out of the bracket. Nevada will not care as they are headed to the Big Dance.
The Wolf Pack rank out well in the metrics as they are the 37th best team in the nation, fourth in the Mountain West Conference, but are just 7-8 in their Quad One and Quad Two games this season.
Nevada has not won a NCAA Tournament game since reaching the Sweet Sixteen in 2018.
Arizona State Sun Devils – Thank You Desmond Cambridge
Arizona State is the second to last team to make the bracket and probably have one important moment to thanks. Desmond Cambridge went running by half court to sink the game winner, on the road, against the seventh ranked Arizona Wildcats. The Sun Devils enter this game having won two of their last three games and were a surprise, for me, to see their name in the bracket.
The Sun Devils are not loved by the metrics as they rank as the 66th best team in the nation and the fifth best in the Pac-12. ASU went just 9-11 against teams in the first quads this year.
Arizona State is dancing for the first time since 2019 when they won in the First Four, over St. John’s, and lost in the First Round to Buffalo.
