Miami (OH) Redhawks
Miami (OH) has been the worst team in the MAC so far this season, going 7-15 and 1-8 in conference play. They are in the midst of a six-game losing streak, which includes their last outing, a three-point loss at home to Toledo. But that was a respectable showing for the Redhawks, who will look to build on that competitive showing against Ohio.
Paint protection is going to be the top priority for Miami (OH) in this game. Specifically, keeping Dwight Wilson III from getting what he wants at the rim will be of vital importance. Wilson averages just shy of a double-double on the season, and has had some huge games for the Bobcats, which Miami will need to prevent if they want any shot at a second conference win here.
Ohio Bobcats
The Ohio Bobcats have lost two straight games coming into this all-Ohio MAC matchup. They lost to Akron, which is understandable given Akron’s place as one of the best teams in the MAC. But they followed that up with a loss to Eastern Michigan, who do not have many weapons outside of Emoni Bates.
In this game, the Bobcats need to find some scoring from outside of the paint. That has been a challenge for them at times this season, at least from a consistency standpoint. Look for Ohio to play inside-out in this matchup to try and free up their shooters, with the question being whether or not those shooters can convert their chances.
