Top AL Pennant Contenders
New York Yankees
The favorites to win the American League pennant in 2025 are the New York Yankees, who are coming off of a pennant winning season in 2024. The Yankees will look different next year than they looked this season, with Juan Soto being their most notable departure and Paul Goldschmidt coming into the fold to replace him. Still, the Yankees will have Aaron Judge and plenty of weapons to rely on as they look to repeat as American League champions.
Baltimore Orioles
Last season, the Baltimore Orioles nearly finished ahead of the Yankees in the AL East standings. Instead, they were relegated to a Wild Card spot and that made it much harder for them in the postseason. This year, the Orioles will be back and just as dangerous as they were a season ago, as they look to leapfrog the Yankees for the AL East title and the AL pennant as well.
Houston Astros
The Houston Astros got off to a slow start in 2024 but they put things together to win the AL West. Houston will be the favorites to win their division again in 2025, with the question being whether they can get enough from their offense in October to make a run to the World Series.
Other AL Pennant Contenders
There are so many other teams with a realistic chance to make it to the World Series out of the American League. The AL Central has two or three teams that could get there, as the Detroit Tigers, Cleveland Guardians, and Minnesota Twins are all expected to contend for a pennant. Then you have teams like the Texas Rangers and Seattle Mariners who just need to stay healthy to have a real shot at getting the pennant for themselves. And don’t count out the pitching of the Boston Red Sox to get them back to the World Series.

With plenty of time for things to change before this season, we will take the Houston Astros to win the American League pennant in 2025. Houston has a ton of postseason experience to rely on going into this year, which could give them an advantage over many of the top contenders to win the American League. At a better price than the Yankees and Orioles, we will take Houston to get to the World Series out of the AL.
