The lone WNBA game of the day sees the 6-6 New York Liberty travel to Los Angeles to face the Los Angeles Sparks (5-6).
New York at Los Angeles Betting Odds
The Sparks opened as 5-point favorites and the line has been bet down all the way to 2.5 points. The total has remained pretty unchanged and is 160.5.
New York Liberty
The Liberty saw Sabrina Ionescu return last game, although she was a bit of a non-factor and only scored a single point in the team’s thumping at the hands of Las Vegas. The Aces cruised to a pair of wins in the two-game series and New York is 1-2 on its four-game road trip which ends today.
While Ionescu is back, New York will be without Natasha Howard, who is out with a knee injury. The Liberty have gotten solid play from Betnijah Laney, who had a game-high 20 points against the Aces. Howard will be missed, as she does help open things up on the outside.
Los Angeles Sparks
Los Angeles turned in a stinker last game against Phoenix, as Amanda Zahui B was hit with three quick fouls and played fewer than 19 minutes before fouling out with five points. In the previous meeting against Phoenix she scored 15 points and 7 rebounds and a pair of blocks, as the Sparks won that one. LA needs a big game from her with the injuries to the big players.
The Sparks have one more home game after this one, which is their third home game in a row.
New York at Los Angeles Pick
I don’t like this game one bit from a betting perspective, but it is literally the only game in town. I have the Sparks winning 83-72, although it doesn’t take into account the injuries for both teams. If I had to play it, would take a shot on Sparks -2.5, as I think they matchup well with New York and a few of their better defenders are guards. Zahui B could have a big game for LA given New York’s frontcourt.
