This game will be played at Entertainment & Sports Arena at 7:00 PM ET on Tuesday, May 10, 2022.
Why Bet The Mystics:
✅ The Aces have played some incredible basketball so far this season, but the travel situation for them is not an enviable one heading into this contest. They had to fly across the country after a late night finish on Sunday night, with just one day separating that trip on a commercial flight and this game. Expect the Mystics to benefit from a slightly less demanding travel situation and to cover the number here.
✅ Washington rested Elena Delle Donne for Sunday’s blowout win over the Minnesota Lynx, as they scheduled her to sit out that game ahead of time. Delle Donne should be back for this contest for the Mystics, who do not play again until Friday night. Expect Delle Donne to be effective again in this game, after she scored 21 points in the Mystics’ season opener against Indiana.
✅ Natasha Cloud has been shooting the three very well for the Mystics early this season. She is clearly confident after playing domestically in the Athletes Unlimited league during the offseason, and has said during an in-game interview on Sunday that she wants to put the league on notice that she is a three-point shooter now. She will continue to play at a high level here to help the Mystics take down the WNBA title favorites.
Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces could not have asked for a better start to their season, beating the Phoenix Mercury and Seattle Storm on opening weekend. Becky Hammon has the team playing freely and confidently, as they are much more willing to play from the perimeter while not completely ignoring their advantages in the paint. Here, the Aces may face their biggest test of the season so far, though, on the road against a tough Mystics team.
Keep an eye out for how the Aces start this game, as they had a difficult travel situation to navigate ahead of this game. Travel in the WNBA is a lot different than travel in the NBA or NFL, and long-distance trips without much recovery time tend to impact teams more than they do in leagues where it is possible to charter flights and provide the players with the travel comfort they deserve.
Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics have also got off to a strong start this season, beating the Indiana Fever and Minnesota Lynx to move to 2-0 after opening weekend. Washington was able to pick up a win against Minnesota in their last game, despite the fact that Elena Delle Donne sat out due to a planned rest day. Delle Donne should be back for this matchup against the Aces, and Mike Thibault’s team will need her to keep up with this explosive Las Vegas squad.
In this contest, rookie Shakira Austin and Myisha Hines-Allen will be tested on the glass against the duo of A’ja Wilson and Dearica Hamby. Hamby has been incredible on the boards so far this season, while Wilson is always a factor in the paint as well. The frontcourt for the Mystics must remain competitive with the bigs of the Aces for Washington to have a chance in this game.
