As more NFL star players have chosen to retire at a very young age, the league’s fans are left astounded. The latest players who announced their retirement are Kavon Frazier, a Cowboys sixth-round pick from 2016, Joe Haden, a cornerback for the Browns, and his teammate Buster Skrine.
On Friday, Frazier announced his retirement on his social media platforms, explaining his choice to pursue his entrepreneurial career at the age of 27.
“Althоugh I played fооtball, it dоes nоt define whо I am as a persоn,” Frazier said.
“I’m a devоut Christian, a husband, a father, and a business оwner. Having said that, I’ll be quitting the game I played fоr the past 20 years tоday in оrder tо pursue my entrepreneurial jоurney and truly impact оur cоmmunity.”
In the statement, he also reflected on how he founded Built 4 It Athletics while recuperating from a pectoral injury, began to acquire APEC in early 2022, and revealed his plan to establish an investment company, which he finally termed “Athlete Investment Academy.”
Build 4 It Athletic is a training facility created by Frazier as a suitable location for beginners to professionals. It provides cutting-edge gym amenities, including yoga and cardio training sessions. He later appointed Tim Cook as the Director of Performance and Recovery in this training center.
In conclusion, he participated in 15 games with the Dolphins and 461 defensive snaps and 638 special teams snaps for the Cowboys, totaling 67 tackles.
Haden, Skrine announce retirement
The 33-year-old Haden is another player who just announced his retirement, which he revealed via an Instagram post. He is renowned for being one of the best cornerbacks in the NFL.
He has accumulated 155 passes defended in addition to his 29 career interceptions throughout the course of his whole career.
Skrine, too, made his retirement announcement, albeit through the Titans’ coach Mike Vrable.
“Buster Skrine informed us that he was going to retire,” Vrable said.
Despite the fact that the veteran didn’t mention a resignation reason prior to his decision, the coach respects Skrine’s choice. “So I respect that decision, and I really respect Buster as a person and as a player,” he continued.
In the six games he played in for the Titans since the midst of the 2021 season, Skrine had 17 tackles, one interception, and three passes defended and registered one tackle in his first career playoff game.
Following the retirement of Kevin Johnson, Ty Sambrailo, and Abry Jones, this announcement also extended the list of Titans players who have made the decision to depart the franchise as of 2021.
Previously, Jones announced his resignation in July 2021 at the age of 29, Sambrailo opted to retire after spending more than six seasons with three teams, while Johnson announced his resignation in June 2021 at the age of 28.
Before he made the decision to join the Jets, Bears, 49ers, and Titans, Skrine spent four seasons and 64 games with the Browns, recording 235 tackles and six interceptions. The 33-year-old has featured in 158 games throughout the course of his career, recording 590 tackles and a staggering 10 interceptions.
