The Miami Dolphins defeated the Baltimore Ravens with a tight 42-38 score on Sunday with Tua Tagovailoa dominating by finishing the game with six touchdowns tallied.
Tagovailoa, who was selected as starting QB, led the Dolphins’ offense in this game. For the passing offense, as the only QB who played this game for Dolphins, he threw for 36 out of 50 completions for 469 passing yards and two intercepts, which he recorded in the first half.
Tagovailoa shone as he rallied the Dolphins from a 21-point deficit in the fourth quarter and tally his sixth touchdown pass when the game was on 14 seconds remaining and made the lead changes for the Dolphins.
On the other hand, Ravens’ QB Lamar Jackson threw three TD passes from 21 completions out of 29 attempts for 318 yards and carried the ball nine times when playing rush offense for 119 yards.

The Ravens scored the first touchdown of the game when the game was only played for 13 seconds. Devin Duvernay made a touchdown from a kickoff return from Justin Tucker’s kickoff attempt. Duvernay ran for 103 yards on return and the score went 7-0 for the Ravens’ early lead. Then, no points were scored by both sides in the first quarter.
Starting the second quarter, the Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle received a six-yard pass from Tagovailoa to finish the six plays of the drive. The score became 7-7 and this was the only touchdown that came from the Dolphins in this quarter.
Shortly after, Jackson snapped one play and threw a long pass to the Ravens WR Rashod Bateman as he ran for 75 yards led to a touchdown. Then, at the four-minute mark, Jackson threw a one-yard pass that led to Mark Andrews’ touchdown, followed by a 12-yard touchdown from Demarcus Robinson closing the first half for the Ravens’ lead 28-7.
Starting the third, Mike Gesicki received a 14-yard pass from Tagovailoa from 12 snaps as the Dolphins chased the score to 14-28. In the last minute of the third quarter, Jackson showed his skill as a dual-threat QB by rushing for 79 yards touchdown to widen the score to 14-35 for the Ravens’ lead.
Starting the fourth quarter, Tagovailoa threw a two-yard passing to River Cracraft, followed by a pair of Tyreek Hill receiving touchdowns, a 48-yard and a 60-yard, to tie the score.
At 2:18 on the clock of the fourth quarter, Tucker scored a field goal to lead the Ravens to lead the game 35-38.
Then, Tagovailoa’s seven-yard touchdown pass to Waddle on 14 seconds remaining ended the game with 42-38 for the Dolphins.
Three Dolphins receivers accumulated 302 receiving yards from 26 receptions and five touchdowns tallied, while the RBs, Raheem Mostert and Chase Edmonds accumulated 16 carriers for 84 rushing yards with no touchdown.
For the upcoming game, the Dolphins will be up against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday, September 25 in Week 3, while the Ravens will play on their road game against the New England Patriots at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, MA.
