Columbus Blue Jackets vs Boston Bruins Game 1

Money Line: Columbus+130/Boston-150

Puck Line: Columbus-210/Boston+176

O/U: 5.5

The Blue Jackets are well rested after their surprising sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning, not having played since April 16th. The Bruins on the other hand are coming off of a tough seven-game series against the Toronto Maple Leafs and played their last game just two days ago. Columbus is the hottest team in hockey, winning 11 of their last 12 games. Their last loss? A 6-2 blowout against the Boston Bruins.

Sometimes an extended period of time off between games can be a bad thing, especially when it is almost a week and a half. Boston doesn’t mind the quick turnaround from last series with how good they are currently playing, winning their last two games by a combined score of 9-3. The Blue Jackets will come out a little flat in this one against a hot Bruins team that will take the lead early and hold on with their great defense. The Bruins won the regular season series 2-1

Columbus 2 – Boston 4

Dallas Stars vs St. Louis Blues Game 1

Money Line: Dallas+135/St. Louis-155

Puck Line: Dallas-215/St. Louis+180

O/U: 5

Two teams coming off of 4-2 series victories against higher seeded opponents, the Dallas Stars knocked off the Nashville Predators and the St. Louis Blues eliminated the Winnipeg Jets. Both teams played well on the road in their last series, the Stars going 2-1 and the Blue 3-0. These two teams are both great on the defensive end, with Dallas being second in goals allowed and St. Louis 5th. Both teams are also in the top ten in Penalty Kill % and Penalty Minutes. Despite allowing the second least goals in the league, the Stars allow the 15th most shots per game in the league.

The Blues have the advantage on the offensive end, 15th in Goals Scored (Dallas 28th), 15th in Shots on Goal (Dallas 21st), and 16th in Shooting % (Dallas 28th). Both goalies have played great this season, each averaging under 2 Goals Allowed per game. These two teams are similar in style of play, so this should be a great series that sees six or seven games. The Blues take Game 1 in a great low scoring defensive game that is a sample of what we will see throughout this entire series. Dallas won the regular season series 3-1.
