Why Bet the Under:
✅ The Bruins and Stars are two of the best defensive teams in the NHL this season. Both squads sit inside the Top 5 in even strength goals against.
✅ Boston and Dallas are also just as good defensively on the penalty kill as they are at even strength. The Stars and Bruins sit in the Top 3 in penalty kill this season as two of the best special teams units in the league.
✅ This matchup also features elite goaltending that has helped achieve those strong defensive rankings. Jake Oettinger and Linus Ullmark are amongst the favorites to win the Vezina this year as the league’s best goaltender. Both should come up with some timely saves to keep the score low in this matchup,

Boston Bruins
Boston heads to Dallas in a bit of a midseason funk as the results haven’t been there for the first time this season for the Stanley Cup favorites. The Bruins have four losses in their last five games as a tough slate has shown some cracks in the armor of the big, bad Bruins.
Goalscoring has been an issue in the four recent defeats as they scored just a single goal in losses to the Carolina Hurricanes and Washington Capitals. Getting more shots on goal could be the answer to their problems in that department as the Bruins failed to register 30+ shots in both of those one goal performances.
The Bruins will be well rested for this one as they last played on February 11 at home against the Capitals before getting Super Bowl Sunday and Monday off. Boston is 7-0-1 on two days rest this season as head coach Jim Montgomery has made the most of time off for his players this season.
Jake DeBrusk remains out of the lineup with a lower body injury. His expected return is late February as the Bruins will be without one of the big bodies for the time being.
Dallas Stars
Dallas plays host to an Eastern Conference contender for the second straight game with the hope they can make a statement they failed to make against the Tampa Bay Lightning their last time on the ice. The Stars dropped their game against the Bolts, losing 3-1 to the defending Eastern Conference champs.
Dallas just simply could not find an answer to get the puck in the net on Andrei Vasilevskiy. Jamie Benn had the line goal for the Stars, who failed to score enough to get the job done against one of the best goalies and teams in the league.
The Stars will have an even tougher test against the Bruins in this matchup. Dallas’ second ranked defense (2.5 goals allowed per game) will be tested as they try to stop a Bruins team that is second in the league in goals per game, scoring 3.7 a night.
Goals were an issue for the Stars when the two teams played their lone game against each other earlier this season. The Stars scored just once in a 3-1 loss back in late October in what seems to be a familiar theme for the Stars when facing a cup contender from the East. If Dallas wants to make a statement that they are to be taken seriously as a potentially championship caliber team, it will start with simply finding the back of the net against a top Bruins team.
