Ravens Hit the Road For Divisional Playoffs
In the first round of the playoffs, the Baltimore Ravens beat the Pittsburgh Steelers 28-14 at home. Baltimore took a 21-0 lead into halftime in that game, dominating the Steelers over the first 30 minutes and doing more than enough to hold on to advance to the Divisional playoffs. Now, NFL odds show the Ravens as a slight underdog going into this game, though Baltimore’s performance against Buffalo earlier in the season should provide confidence for the Ravens in this game.
Baltimore beat the Bills 35-10 early in the 2024 regular season, outscoring Buffalo 21-3 in the first half of that game en route to an easy win. That game was in Baltimore, while this game is being held in Buffalo. But if the Ravens defense can limit Josh Allen the same way they did in that game, it may not matter where this game is being played, even if that is easier said than done.
Bills Look to Pass Huge Test
The Buffalo Bills got a win at home over the Denver Broncos this Wild Card weekend to advance to the Divisional round of the playoffs. Buffalo has home-field advantage in this game by virtue of earning the second seed in the AFC playoffs. But the Bills will have to be better than they were in their loss to Baltimore earlier in the season if they want to get to the AFC Championship Game.
For Buffalo, the key to this game is going to be stopping the run. The Bills allowed Derrick Henry to rush for 199 yards on 24 carries in that regular season meeting, with Henry averaging 8.3 yards per carry in that game. If the Bills can slow Henry down on the ground, that could allow the Bills defense to make Lamar Jackson a passer more frequently, which could mean good things for Buffalo.
Ravens vs Bills Best Bet
Our best bet for Ravens vs Bills in the Divisional playoffs is for the Buffalo Bills to cover the spread as a slight favorite at home. Buffalo is a perfect 8-0 at home this season and, while the Ravens did beat the Bills earlier in the year, we don’t expect Henry to be as productive in this game. Expect the Bills to win and to advance to the AFC Championship Game, where they will face the winner of Texans vs Chiefs.
