Mississippi State With One Last Chance For SEC Win
This season has not gone according to plan for the Mississippi State Bulldogs. They are just 2-9 overall and 0-7 in the SEC. This week, they look to close out their season by getting their first SEC win of the year. But to do that, the Bulldogs defense will need to show up against a conference opponent for the first time all season. Mississippi State has allowed no fewer than 33 points in an SEC game this season and they are in danger of getting lit up again by an Ole Miss team that will have a chip on its shoulder on Friday.
Ole Miss Looks to Bounce Back From Playoff Elimination
Ole Miss likely solidified that it would not be taking part in the College Football Playoff this year after their loss to Florida in their last outing. Quarterback Jaxson Dart made a couple of confounding decisions with the ball late in that game to all but assure the Rebels that they will be playing in a non-playoff bowl game in the near future. This week, Ole Miss will try and take its frustrations out on their in-state rivals, but the question going into this game will be what Ole Miss’ mindset is like after such a deflating loss to the Gators.
Mississippi State vs Ole Miss Best Bet
It would take nothing short of a miracle for Mississippi State to close this season out with a win in the Egg Bowl over Ole Miss. But we are going to take the points with the Bulldogs in this Mississippi State vs Ole Miss matchup. A Lane Kiffin coached team coming off of a soul-crushing defeat that ruined their playoff hopes is not a team that we feel comfortable backing. Look for Ole Miss to win, but for Mississippi State to keep the margin inside of four touchdowns.
