The Oregon Ducks (4-0) will take on the Auburn Tigers (4-1) at Michelob ULTRA Arena in Las Vegas on Monday night. This clash comes in the early rounds of the Players Era Festival and it pits two very good teams against each other. But only one of them can come out on top in this early-season showcase event. Key Storylines
- Auburn without Keyshawn Hall. Hall, the team’s leading scorer and rebounder (23.3 PPG and 11.0 RPG), is expected to miss this game with a lateral foot sprain. That’s a huge blow to their offensive and rebounding identity.
- Oregon is leaning on Bittle. Nate Bittle has stepped up early this season. He is averaging 18.8 points and 9.8 rebounds per game as the Ducks’ anchor inside. Auburn will have to contend with his size and ability to finish around the rim if they want to win this game.
- Veteran backcourt for the Ducks. Jackson Shelstad has delivered in clutch moments and gives Oregon a steady playmaker and scorer. But this is a huge test for Shelstad and the Ducks.
- Depth shift in Auburn’s rotation. With Hall out, role players like Elyjah Freeman and KeShawn Murphy will have to carry more of the load offensively. If they can do that, the Tigers should get to 5-1 and pass their first big test in Vegas.
- Tournament pressure. Both teams are navigating back-to-back games in Las Vegas. Oregon is defending its Players Era title, and Auburn will be tested early in this neutral-site environment.

Final Thoughts
Oregon is undefeated to start this season. But they nearly lost at home to Hawai’i to begin their campaign and they have not looked convincing against the spread whatsoever. I’m going to lay the points with Auburn here in spite of the key absence in their backcourt. Auburn will improve to 5-1 both overall and against the spread with an impressive showing here in the desert.
