Four games on the WNBA schedule for Friday, as we’re nearing the Olympic break. We’ll look at one of the late games tonight, as the Seattle Storm travel to Phoenix to face the Mercury.
Seattle at Phoenix Betting Odds
The Storms are favored by 6 and the total just dropped from 168.5 to 167.5.
After the Mercury upset Las Vegas two nights ago, Seattle is sitting on top of the WNBA standings with a 15-4 record..
Seattle is a well-balanced team, with plenty of players who can chip in offensively. Seattle has played better defense away from home this season, as they allow 77.2 points on the road and 81.8 at home. The Storm are No. 4 in defensive efficiency and No. 2 in defensive efficiency away from home.
The Mercury have been a decent team away from home this season, but have been pretty bad in front of the home fans, where they’re just 2-7 and have gone 6-2 away from home.
Phoenix has a couple of big-time players, but they don’t get a whole lot of help at times and if you can stop Brittney Griner, Skylar Diggins-Smith and Diana Turasi you have a decent chance of knocking off the Mercury.
Seattle at Phoenix Pick
I have Seattle winning this one 86-77, so going to take the under 167.5, even though we’ve lost a point in the total since I started writing this, which happens to us quite often. We’re 25-15-1 on the season with these plays, so hopefully can keep it up another few days until we get to the break.
