The Chicago Sky look to claim their first-ever WNBA title today, when they host the Phoenix Mercury. The Sky lead the best-of-five series 2-1.
Phoenix Mercury at Chicago Sky Betting Odds
Caesars Sportsbook has the Sky favored by 4.5 and the total on the game is 164.
Phoenix Mercury
The Mercury completely stunk it up in Game 3, failing to hit shots and making it worse by playing poor defense. The end result was a 36-point victory for Chicago. Phoenix shot 25.8% from the field, 25.0% from 3-point range and made 17 turnovers, so the final score was pretty much what it should have been.

With the Mercury needing overtime to win Game 2, you can say that Chicago has pretty much controlled this series, getting a pair of easy wins and a tough loss. But Phoenix is a veteran team and know the series isn’t over yet, but they’ll have to reach down and find something that’s been lacking for the majority of the series. Brittney Griner had 16 points last game, but only two rebounds and that is where Phoenix needs to excel. Diana Turasi and Skylar Diggins-Smith were a combined 3 for 19 from the field last game.
Chicago Sky
The Sky played a solid game last time out, but can’t start the celebration just yet. Candace Parker has had 2-1 leads in the finals before and come up short, so perhaps she can remind her teammates that one more win is needed. Chicago was able to play its bench for an extended period of time and all 11 players scored.
Chicago would love to close this one out in front of the home fans, although the announced attendance Friday night was just 1,378. You’d think for the Finals, Chicago – a great sports town – could at least get 2,000 fans to come out. Maybe, they’ll do a little better today with a chance to take the title.
Phoenix at Chicago Pick
Have floundered a bit the last month, with Friday’s loss dropping the record to 40-30-1, which is a little worse than we’ve done the past few seasons. After last game, have to think the Mercury are going to come out and play with a bit of desperation and some pride. Chicago may get the win here, but believe the Mercury are going to play their top game and if they don’t extend the series, keep it close, so will take Phoenix +4.5 in this one.
