Just two games in the WNBA and with no line on the Phoenix game despite a noon start, we’ll take a look at the late game between the Minnesota Lynx (13-9) and the Chicago Sky (11-11).
Minnesota at Chicago Betting Odds
The Lynx are favored by 1.5 and the total on the game is 160.5.
Minnesota Lynx
After a slow start to the season, the Lynx turned it up a notch, but have dropped their last two to the Connecticut Sun, which is no shame. The Lynx are still No. 4 in the standings but the Mercury are right on their heels after Phoenix has thrown together three straight wins. The Lynx are a decent-shooting team, hitting 45.8% from the field and allow just 42.6% shooting, although they do allow 36.3% from 3-point range.
Minnesota is another team that lacks a true star but they do have five players averaging double figures and a couple of others in the 8-point range. Kayla McBride has starting playing the way Las Vegas envisioned when they drafted her and if she can hit a few outside shots, it helps open things up for Sylvia Fowles and Napeesha Collier..
Chicago Sky
The Sky are coming off an ugly home loss to Dallas, as they made some brutal turnovers down the stretch and couldn’t quite catch up to Dallas. The Sky have hit a bit of a bump, going 2-4 over their last six games after their winning streak.
Chicago also has five players who average double digits in scoring, although Allie Quigley was really the only one who showed up against Dallas, scoring 27 points, while the rest of the team combined for 49 points. Candice Parker scored all of two points against Dallas and Courtney Vandersloot managed four and both average more than 10 points on the season.
Minnesota at Chicago Pick
A little bit surprised Minnesota is favored in this one even though I have them winning 84-79. I expected this one to be even or Chicago -1 after the Lynx dropped their last two games. A pretty tough tough game from a handicapping perspective, but will stick to the numbers and take a stab on the over 160.5.
