- Vegas lost its lone game on the road against the Wings this season, and they will struggle with Dallas again here.
- The Wings are +22 on the glass in three games against Las Vegas so far this season, and their size will be a huge factor in this game staying close.
Both the Las Vegas Aces and Dallas Wings are coming off of a loss entering their game on Tuesday night in Arlington. But only one of them will get back into the win column in this contest. Here, we make our WNBA betting picks for Aces vs Wings, which should be the game of the night in a five-game WNBA slate on Tuesday.
Aces vs Wings Betting Pick
Wings +9 over Aces
Why Bet on the Wings:
✅ Dallas has a huge size advantage over the Aces, which has resulted in a big rebounding edge for Dallas in the three games these teams have played this season. Dallas is averaging a +7.3 rebounding margin against the Aces this year, which will continue in this contest.
✅ The Aces are 2-1 against the Wings this season, but both of their wins over Dallas came in Las Vegas. Dallas could very well even this season series with a home win here.
✅ Dallas not only has the rebounding advantage here, but Natasha Howard is one of the few players in the WNBA who can guard A’ja Wilson both on the perimeter and interior.
This game will be played at College Park Center at 8:00 PM ET on Tuesday, August 8, 2023.
Las Vegas Aces
The Las Vegas Aces were thoroughly embarrassed in their last game, getting crushed by the New York Liberty on Sunday afternoon. Vegas trailed that game by five points at half, before getting demolished in the second half en route to a 38-point loss. Here, the Aces will look to be better on both ends of the floor to avoid a second straight defeat.
In the last meeting between these teams in Las Vegas, the Aces shot over 50% from three-point range, with Kelsey Plum leading all scorers with 28 points. Plum is coming off of a 4/16 shooting game against the Liberty on Sunday. Both her and A’ja Wilson will need to be better than they were in Brooklyn for the Aces to avoid their first losing streak of this season.
Speaking of losing streaks, the Dallas Wings are mired in a two-game home losing streak coming into Tuesday. They lost on Friday and Sunday to the Chicago Sky, despite being substantial favorites going into both of those contests. Here, the Wings will look to right the ship, using their size advantage to put a scare into the mighty Aces.
Teaira McCowan will be the key figure for the Wings in this game, as she led the Wings with 24 points on 11/14 shooting the last time these teams met. McCowan has averaged 12.3 rebounds per game against the Aces this year, and another game where she controls the boards could help the Wings get a much-needed victory against the best team in the W.
