The WNBA playoffs begin tonight with a pair of elimination games. We’ll take a look at the game between the Dallas Wings and the Chicago Sky.
Dallas at Chicago Betting Odds
The Sky have dropped from 5-point favorites to 4.5-point favorites and the total on the game is 164.5.
Dallas Wings
The Wings started off the season pretty strong and then hit a bit of a lull. They were 5-5 down the stretch but did show a little bit of heart in defeating Los Angeles in the final game of the season when the Sparks needed a win to make the playoffs. The Wings don’t have the one big star, with Arike Ogunbowale the team’s leading scorer at 18.7 points per game, but also the team’s leader in field goal attempts. She just shoots 38.3% from the field but does hit 37.6% from 3-point range.

The Wings have four other players who average 10.9 or more points, but the problem has been getting them all on the court at the same time, as Satou Sabbally missed 15 games and Allisha Gray missed seven. When full healthy, which they appear to be, the Wings are probably a better team than their numbers show.
Chicago Sky
The Sky are similar to the Wings in many ways and team depth is one of them, as Chicago also has five players who average double digits and also saw some key players miss time. Kahleah Cooper is the team’s leading scorer at 14.4 points per game, but she gets plenty of help from her teammates.
The Sky can make free throws, hitting 84.5% for the season, which could come into play if it’s a tight game down the stretch, where Chicago will look to get the ball to Allie Quigley, who shoots 95.9% for the season.
Dallas at Chicago Pick
I’m not really enamored with this game, but with Diana Turasi listed as questionable for the New York at Phoenix game, this one may play out the truest to form of the two games tonight. My numbers are calling for this one to be 85-85, so will go ahead and take a shot on Dallas and hope they can hit enough shots from 3-point range to give themselves a chance at the end. The Sky do have the experience factor, but am just going to follow the numbers and hope it’s a good game..
