Why Bet the Mystics:
✅ While the Sun did win the first matchup between these teams, Connecticut needed a furious comeback to do so. Washington was the better team for most of that game, and will be better at home here.
✅ The Mystics shot an unnaturally bad 3/21 from three-point range against the Sun over the weekend. They will shoot the ball better at home, where they crushed the Liberty to open their season, en route to a win and a cover here.

Connecticut Sun
Going into this WNBA season, there were concerns about how the Connecticut Sun would respond to losing head coach Curt Miller and their best player in Jonquel Jones. But the Sun have done well so far, going 2-0 in the first weekend of the season after beating the Indiana Fever and Washington Mystics. Tuesday will be their biggest test so far, though, as they hit the road to face the Mystics on their home court.
For the Sun, the key to this game will be continuing to defend the three-point line at a high level. Connecticut held the Mystics to just three made threes on Tuesday. Another game like that, and the Sun could improve to 3-0 on the year.
Washington Mystics
The Washington Mystics beat up on the New York Liberty at home to start their season, and looked like they were headed for another blowout win against the Sun on Sunday. But they fell apart in the second half, thanks to some poor shooting, and had to settle for an opening weekend split.
In this game, the Mystics will need to shoot the ball better, but will hope for a similarly strong performance from Shakira Austin. Austin went 10/14 from the field and led Washington with 21 points in Sunday’s loss. Her presence on the interior will be even more important than usual early this season, with Myisha Hines-Allen battling injury.
