Four games in the WNBA tonight and a couple of pretty good ones, as the top four teams in the standings are all battling each other. The lines look to be the toughest in those games, however, so will look at the game with the biggest difference between the spread and my numbers and that’s the game between the Chicago Sky (11-12) and the Atlanta Dream (6-17).
Chicago Sky vs Atlanta Dream Betting Odds
The Atlanta Dream and Chicago Sky face off on Tuesday August 24, 2021 in a WNBA basketball showdown at the Gateway Center Arena Caesars sportsbook has the Sky as 6pt favorites and the total on the game at 166.5.
Chicago Sky
The Sky just finished a pretty ugly homestand that saw them drop three of four games, although there was the Olympic break in between the first and second game. Chicago began with a two-point win over a shorthanded Seattle team, but then came up short against Dallas and Minnesota. Hitting the road might be the best thing for the Sky, as they are 7-4 away from home and 4-8 in front of the home fans.
Chicago is led by Allie Quigley’s 14.2 points per game, which is just slightly better than the 14.1 points of Kahleah Cooper. Three others average 11.4 points or more, including Diamond DeShields, who has all the tools to be a huge star in the league, but hasn’t made the most of them.
Atlanta Dream
The Dream made some changes during the Olympic break, including bringing in a new coach. The problem is most of the same players returned, and the Dream have dropped all four games since returning to the floor. Atlanta played LA close both games and then were thumped at home by Phoenix last time on the floor.
Courtney Williams and Tiffany Hayes both average more than 16 points per game, but the well runs dry pretty quick after that. The Dream did bring in veteran Candice Parker to try and settle the younger players down a bit and show them how a professional does the job.
Chicago at Atlanta Pick
Fell to 30-18-1 on the season last time out, being on the short end of what was essentially a toss-up and this one isn’t the greatest game from a handicapping perspective. I do have Chicago winning 87-76 with my numbers and 86-74 with another method, so will go ahead and take the Sky -6.
