There are four games in the WNBA today, with more of the same regarding injuries, which bit us in the butt last time out, as Minnesota’s best player, Sylvia Fowles, sat the game out, something the Lynx and the WNBA didn’t think was worth mentioning in their game previews. The team’s No. 4 scorer also missed, making it more surprising that we just missed covering by a point, but nothing you can do about it now. Enough of the mini-rant, as we’ll look at the game between the Atlanta Dream and the Dallas Wings.
Atlanta at Dallas Betting Odds
The Wings are favored by 6.5 and the total on the game is down to 158 after opening at 161.
Atlanta Dream
The Dream are not a very good team, but at least they’re consistent, as they’re below average offensively and horrible defensively. Atlanta shoots 41.5% from the field and 31.8% from 3-point range, while allowing the opposition to shoot 47.4% and 40% from 3-point range.

It’s not as though Atlanta is void of talent, as they’re two team leaders of Courtney Williams and Tiffany Hayes combined to average 30.5 points per game and are solid in shooting 3-pointers, with Williams at 38.1% and Williams at 43.6%. There is a pretty steep drop-off after that and Tianna Hawkins is listed as doubtful, while Candace Parker is questionable for the game.
Dallas Wings
The Wings are No. 7 in the standings and this is simply a game they have to have, as Dallas needs to defeat the teams they should beat to keep their spot in the playoffs. Dallas has gone just 3-7 in their last 10 games, although the teams they’re battling with for a playoff spot haven’t been any better.
Dallas with be without Sabally once again, but Allisha Gray was upgraded to probably in this one and she gives Dallas a solid shooting threat. Arike Ogunbowale leads the team with 19.1 points per game and then the Wings have a decent collection of players averaging between 7 and 12 points. The Wings shoot the 3-pointer well at 36.7% and should hit a few against the Dream’s perimeter defense.

New York at Minnesota Pick
A little baffled by the downward move in the total, as I have this one 89-84. Have checked several different injury reports this morning and don’t see any of the players I’m expecting to play listed, so will go against the grain here and take the over..
