A big Premier League clash is on the schedule this weekend as sixth place Tottenham host first place Liverpool.
Tottenham have seemingly been in a rough patch all season, but luckily for them most of the Premier League is so there is plenty to play for still. Spurs currently sit in sixth in the table, but are just one point back of Manchester United, for a Europa League spot, and six points back of Chelsea for a Champions League spot. Tottenham is also still alive in the FA Cup and the Champions League this season.
Liverpool have all but wrapped up the Premier League title as they have a 13 point lead, plus a game in hand, over second place Leicester City. The Reds are still alive in the Champions League and FA Cup and have already won a trophy this season by winning the Club World Cup.
Below is my pick for the English Premier League action between Tottenham and Liverpool. All odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook.
Tottenham (+360) vs Liverpool (-150) Draw (+330)
Tottenham started a strong starting 11 against Championship side Middlesbrough, in their FA Cup clash, but were only able to play to a 1-1 deadlock. The injured Spurs will now add another game to their schedule as they will replay this fixture at home. Tottenham have hit another tough patch this season having won just four of their last 10 games to go along with four losses and two draws. Spurs are a top four Premier League team at home this season having won 20 points out of a possible 30.
Liverpool started a reserve team, in their FA Cup clash with Everton, and somehow came away with a 1-0 win over a normal Everton squad. Curtis Jones scored an unbelievable goal in the 71st minute to keep the Liverpool quadruple alive. The Reds have been the best team in the world this season and have lost just two times in all competitions this season. One of those losses came in the Champions League group stage to Napoli and the other came in the Carabao Cup to Aston Villa when Liverpool started a mostly youth squad. Liverpool is a perfect 8-1-0 on the road this season.
Series History: Liverpool came away with a 2-1 win earlier this season and now leads the all-time series 84-42-48.
Game Prediction: Tottenham is too injured, and Liverpool is too good, so I am backing Liverpool -150 this weekend.
2020 Results: 3-1
