RB Leipzig vs Tottenham – Champions League Odds, Preview & Prediction

The Champions League is back with Round of 16 second leg affairs scheduled for Tuesday, March 10 and Wednesday, March 11. One of the two match-ups on Tuesday is the Bundesliga’s RB Leipzig hosting the Premier League’s Tottenham. RB Leipzig hold a 1-0 lead after the first leg in England.

RB Leipzig dropped from second to third place in the Bundesliga after their draw last weekend. Leipzig sit on 50 points and now trail leaders Bayern Munich by five points. The Bundesliga and Champions League are the only remaining competitions for Leipzig this season.

Tottenham are falling further off Champions League pace as Spurs now sit in eighth place in the Premier league. Spurs have 41 points so far this season and trail fifth place Manchester United, who currently occupy the final Champions League spot, by four points. The Premier League and Champions League are the only remaining competitions for Leipzig this season.

Below is my pick for the Champions League action between RB Leipzig and Tottenham. All odds are from FanDuel Sportsbook.

RB Leipzig (-180) vs Tottenham (+480) Draw (+330)

Last time out, RB Leipzig traveled to, European position contenders, Wolfsburg and came away with a disappointing 0-0 draw. Leipzig had most of the chances, and post of the possession, but could not find the back of the net and dropped two key points in the Bundesliga race. RB Leipzig is now unbeaten in six straight games, but have had two consecutive draws. Leipzig is the fourth best home club in Germany thanks to a 7-4-1 record.

It was another tough showing for Spurs as they went to Burnley and could only muster up a 1-1 draw. Chris Wood opened the scoring for the hosts in the 12th minute, but a Dele Alli penalty in the 50th minute secured at least one point for Tottenham. Spurs have not won in five straight games, but the draw does end Spurs four game losing streak. Tottenham is a bottom half road squad in England as Spurs have won just 15 points in 15 road games.

Series History: These clubs met for the first time in their first leg match which was won 1-0 by RB Leipzig.

Game Prediction: I don’t see Tottenham getting out of their funk just yet, so give me RB Leipzig -180
