MLS Odds, Picks & Best Bets – April 19th

The MLS season is in full swing now with all teams playing at least five games and some playing as many as seven. The weekend actions gets underway on Friday with two very intriguing matches and one matchup that has two teams who desperately need their form to turnaround.

Here are my three best bets for Friday’s action in the MLS.

FC Cincinnati (-118) vs Real Salt Lake (+280) – Draw (+280)

Two struggling teams face off Friday night when the Eastern Conference’s FC Cincinnati faces off against the Western Conference’s Real Salt Lake. FCC looked they were going to be a problem at home after beating Portland in their first ever MLS home game, but since then we have seen Portland be the worst team in the MLS and FCC not win a home game since. Overall Cincinnati have not won in four games and will look to end their losing streak Friday night.  RSL come into this in similar poor form having lost four out of their last five games. RSL haven’t won a regular season MLS road game since last August and I do not see that changing this week. This one ends in a draw.

Toronto FC (-175) vs Minnesota United (+425) – Draw (+300)

TFC started the season with three wins, but have dropped points in each of their last two and will look to get back to their winnings ways against Minnesota United who are hitting the road after opening their brand new stadium last game. TFC have played four home games in 2019 and have come away with two wins and two draws while Minnesota have gotten three wins in their five road games this season. This is going to be an exciting game, but I see TFC getting three points at home.

LA Galaxy (-139) vs Houston Dynamo (+350) – Draw (+280)

The third and fourth best teams in the West, early on this season, meet in LA for a big time Friday night showdown. The LA Galaxy have played six games so far this season and have won five and lost one, with their lone loss coming on the road without Zlatan.  Houston have yet to lose this season, playing five matches and getting four wins and one draw. The Galaxy have played four home games this season and have won all four while scoring at least two goals in each game. The Dynamo have played just one road game in the MLS, but destroyed the Rapids 4-1. Houston did play two CONCACAF Champions League road games and won in Guatemala and fell 1-0 to Tigres in Mexico. This is a great early season matchup and I like Houston to come away with the road victory.
