The second week of the MLS season is upon us and there is plenty of action on deck this weekend. There are some fun matchups this weekend as the LA Galaxy travel to Dallas to face FC Dallas and the Seattle Sounders host the Colorado Rapids in what should be a fun matchup. The MLS is a difficult league to get a feel for, but here are our three best bets for week 2.
Chicago Fire vs Orlando City
The Fire will host Orlando City this weekend in a battle of two teams who look improved over last season. Chicago looked really good at the LA Galaxy last weekend and were unfortunate to not get a point after Zlatan struck late to get the win for LA. Orlando City erased a 2-0 first half deficit, at home against NYCFC, and were able to get a point in their season opener.
I was really impressed by the Fire last weekend and think they get the win in their home opener. Take Chicago at -133.
FC Dallas vs LA Galaxy
Speaking of the Galaxy, they travel to Dallas to take on FC Dallas in a very interesting Western Conference matchup. Dallas looked good in their week one game against the New England Revolution, but the Revs used a second half goal to steal a point on the road. I talked about the Galaxy a little in the previous section, but they erased a second half deficit, with two late goals, to get all three points from their home, and season, opener.
It looks like the Galaxy are going to be without Zlatan Ibrahimović in this one, but I still think this team is good enough to get out of Dallas with a draw. Take a draw at +300.
NYCFC vs DC United
In the Eastern Conference game of the week DC United with travel to Yankee Stadium to face NYCFC. The most impressive team in week one was DC who welcomed the defending champs, Atlanta United, and winning 2-0. NYCFC lost a 2-0 halftime lead and were only able to leave Orlando with one point.
I think DC United might be the best team in the East, if not the entire league, and they are going to walk out of New York with a big road win. United at +300 is a nice bet to start your Sunday.
