The La Liga title race may be over, but there are still some European competition battles going on and a very intense relegation battle is still taking place as well. Levante hosting Espanyol gets the action started with the games of the day being Real Madrid hosting Athletic Bilbao and Real Betis hosting Valencia.
Here are my two best bets for Sunday’s action in Spain.
Villarreal (-139) vs Leganes (+400) – Draw: (+250)
Villarreal are just one point clear of safety and need to start stacking wins to ensure they remain in La Liga after the 2019 season. Villarreal have gotten 15 points out of their last 10 games to see themselves out of the relegation zone, but they still will have some uncomfortable games ahead. At home Villarreal have only won 16 points out of their 16 home games and have won just three times in their home stadium. Luckily for them they welcome in Leganes who have compiled just 13 points, and three wins, in their 16 road games this season. Leganes sit in 11th place and still have an outside shot at getting a Europa League spot, but they will need to stack wins starting Sunday. Neither team can figure each other out in this one, so take a draw.
Betis (+190) vs Valencia (+140) – Draw: (+240)
Two European hopefuls battle on Sunday as Real Betis, who currently sit in 9th place, welcome Valencia who currently occupy the 6th position. Real Betis were high up the table through the first half of the season, but in their last 15 games they club has only been able to get five wins and 17 points. At home this season Betis have won seven times, but have only compiled 25 points in 16 games. Valencia come into this one as one of the better teams in the second half of the season as they have gotten 27 points in 15 games and have lost just twice. This season on the road Valencia have the 6th best record having compiled 21 points in 15 games and lost just four of those road games. This should be a good game and I like Valencia to get the full three points in this one.
