There are five, or so, weeks left in most of the big leagues seasons, so with plenty of games remaining we get a full slate of midweek games this week. Along with league matches there are also Cup matches as the French Coupe de France semifinals, and German DFB Pokal quarterfinals, take place.
The likes of Manchester United, Wolves, AC Milan, Barcelona, Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Lyon and RB Leipzig are all in action on Tuesday, so it should be a very exciting day of soccer.
Here are my three best bets for Tuesday.
AC Milan (-200) vs Udinese (+600)
AC Milan is coming off a 1-0 loss to Sampdoria, on Saturday, and really need a victory to remain comfortably in the last Champions League spot in Italy. Milan are currently sitting in the 4th place, but are two points out of 3rd and six points out of dropping to 9th. Milan have won four of five home games, but did lose their last home game during the Milan Derby. Udinese put in a class performance, last game against Genoa, winning 2-0 and getting a huge three points. With the win Udinese now sit three points out of a relegation spot, so Milan should expect them to come out firing. Udinese have not won a road game in 11 matches and have lost seven of those games during this winless streak. Roma come out firing and win easily.
Watford (-152) vs Fulham (+425)
Watford would be disappointed they did not get a point, this past weekend, against Manchester United. The Hornets were right with United, but could not overcome a two goal deficit. Watford currently sit in 10th place, with 43 points, but are just one point out of 7th. Watford are currently on a five game home unbeaten run and have won their last three straight. Fulham extended their losing streak to eight games after a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Manchester City. Fulham was out of it from the beginning and are all but officially relegated. They currently sit second from the bottom, with just 17 points, and are 16 points away from safety. Fulham have not won a road game this season and that will continue on Tuesday. Take Watford to win easily.
Augsburg (+350) vs RB Leipzig (-139)
Sitting in 15th place in Bundesliga, Augsburg are definitely a surprise participant this far into the DFB Pokal. Coming off a 3-0 road loss to second from bottom Nurnberg over the weekend, Augsburg are just five points clear from dropping into the relegation zone. Augsburg have won just four of their last ten home fixtures, but one of those wins was against league leader Dortmund just two home matches ago. RB Leipzig is on quite a run as they have not lost in ten official matches after dismantling Hertha Berlin 5-0 this past weekend. Leipzig now sit in third place in the league and are nine points off second place Bayern. Leipzig have really turned around their road form as they have won five in a row, against not the best of competition, after losing five in a row prior to that. I think Leipzig scrape out a win and advance to the semifinals.
