European Soccer Best Bets & Betting Predictions – April 4th

We take a quick break from all of the wild midweek action with just eight games on the docket in the bigger European leagues. There is a lot on the line in some of the La Liga matches as the last Champions League spot and both Europa League spots are still open. Atalanta looks to keep pace in the tight Serie A Champions League, and Europa League, race and the two most successful teams, in the Belgium Championship playoffs, faceoff with Anderlecht hosting Club Brugge.

It is a light docket on Thursday, but there is still some nice matchups to pay attention too. Here are my three best bets for Thursday.

Leganes (+110) vs Valladolid (+300)

Leganes are sitting right in the grey area of the La Liga table after 29 matches. They are currently sitting in 12th, with 36 points, but are just seven points out of Europa League spot and eight points away from the relegation zone. Los Pepineros are coming off a very solid 2-0 road victory at 4th place Getafe. This win should be a big boost for Leganes as they prepare for this match against Valladolid. Leganes have two wins, two draws and one win in their last five home games. Valladolid are fighting for their lives as they are currently just two points clear of the relegation zone. They are coming off a 1-1 draw, at home, against Real Sociedad and will be looking for a better result at Leganes. Valladolid won their last road game, against Eibar, but were on a four game road losing streak prior to that. I think Leganes get the job done and win 2-0.

Atalanta (-200) vs Bologna (+500)

Atalanta rebounded from a terrible home draw, against Chievo in their prior game, to beat Parma 3-1 on the road. The win moves Atalanta into 6th and the final Europa League spot. Sitting on 48 points they are just five points out of 3rd place and three points out of dropping to 9th. At home Atalanta have won three, drawn one and lost one in their last five. Bologna are fighting for their Serie A lives as they are just two points clear of the relegation zone. They have picked a great time to ride a three game winning streak and will look to continue the win streak Thursday night. On the road Bologna has compiled two wins, one draw and two losses in their last five. Atalanta win 3-1.

Anderlecht (+210) vs Club Brugge KV (+120)

The second matches of the Belgium playoffs are underway and the two most successful playoff teams will take battle on Thursday. Anderlecht, who lost their first playoff game 3-0 to Genk, will look to push their four game unbeaten streak to five with a win on Thursday. Club Brugge will be looking to build off their victory over Gent in the first game of the playoffs. In their last five road games they have just two wins, two draws and one loss. Club Brugge hasn’t won at Anderlecht since 1998 and that streak will continue when Anderlecht wins 2-1 on Thursday.
