The final day of the international break is upon us and there are eight matchups on deck to complete the first set of Euro 2020 qualifying games. Monday was pretty much all chalk as Turkey easily handled Moldova, France took care of Iceland and England crushed Montenegro. The only real surprise, if you can call it that right now, was Portugal getting a draw, at home, against Serbia. A draw was +333 in that one and it proved to be the biggest value of the day.
Tuesday is going to give everyone another look at Italy and Spain, as they both look to go 2-0 to start qualifying, and there will be an interesting encounter when Sweden visits Norway. Let’s end this round of qualifiers on a high note, so here are my three best bests for Tuesday’s action.
Armenia vs Finland (+125)
Armenia, currently ranked 95th, welcome 59th ranked Finland in both nations second Euro 2020 qualifying match. Armenia lost their opening match to Bosnia & Herzegovina, 2-1, but were probably lucky to not have lost by a bigger margin. Armenia is in a good home form having compiled two wins, two draws and one loss over their last five home matches. Finland is coming off a 2-0 loss in Italy, in their opening qualifying match, and will be looking to rebound with a victory on Tuesday. I do like Finland to get their first win of the qualifying stage.
Draw +229: Norway vs Sweden
Norway, currently ranked 48th in the latest FIFA rankings, will welcome World Cup quarterfinalist Sweden, currently ranked 14th. Sweden opened up with a successful 2-1 home win over Romania on match day one. The Swedes have now gotten three wins, one draw and one loss in their last five matches overall. On the road Sweden has gone 2-2-1 in their last five. Norway opened their qualifying campaign with a 2-1 loss, at Spain, but will still be in good spirts as this was only their second loss in their last 10 matches overall. At home Norway has won seven in a row and have not lost since September 2016. I think this is going to be the game of the day and I see this being a draw on Tuesday.
Over 2.5 goals (-113): Romania vs Faroe Islands
25th ranked Romania return home to face off with the 97th ranked Faroe Islands. Romania is coming off a 2-1 loss, in Sweden, to open their qualifying campaign with a loss. They will be looking to keep their great home form, have compiled four wins and two losses in their last six, when they welcome in the very poor Faroe Islands. The Faroe Islands are coming off a poor 2-1 loss, in Malta, that allowed Malta to grab their first win since 2017. They have been abysmal on the road having compiled seven losses, two draws and just one win in their last ten. I see Romania getting out to an early lead and winning this one 3-1 or 3-0. Take the over in this Tuesday night tilt.
