The English Premier League still has so many questions outstanding so with such little time remaining this week’s games are more important than ever. Saturday’s big game is Manchester City hosting Tottenham in what will be the team’s third encounter in a week a half. Tottenham ended City’s Champions League dreams and a win Saturday will really hinder their Premier League title aspirations as well. Watford, Leicester and Wolves are all in action trying to secure that 7th spot and Brighton are in action looking to stay in the Premier League for at least one more season.
Here are my two best bets for Saturday’s action in England
Huddersfield (+333) vs Watford (-111) – Draw: (+275)
Huddersfield have been relegated for a while now and are currently on a streak of six straight losses and losses in nine of their last 10. During this 10 game run the Terriers have been shutout in six of those and have given up four goals in four of those games. Huddersfield are on a similar run at home having won just once in their last 10 games at John Smith’s Stadium. FA Cup finalists Watford are still holding out hope of getting into that 7th spot for potential European competition next season. Watford sit in 10th place, but are just one point out of that coveted 7th place spot right now. Watford are not in great form at the moment, having won just two of their last five games, and haven’t been any better on the road nabbing just four points in their five road games. One team needs this game way more and I think Watford gets the win.
Wolves (-133) vs Brighton (+500) – Draw: (+250)
With a loss to Cardiff last time out Brighton is now in a fierce relegation battle with just a few games to go. Brighton are sitting in the last safe spot, two points up on Cardiff, with a game in hand. Brighton looked destined for safety after winning two Premier League games in a row, but since have lost their last four and have not scored a goal since March 17th. Brighton don’t have many opportunities for points the rest of the season, so they need to scrape points anywhere they can. Saturday they travel to Molineux Stadium for a date with 8th place Wolves. The hosts are looking to get into that 7th spot, but recent poor form has really hindered their chances. Wolves have won seven of their last 10 home games and have not been beaten in their last eight in the West Midlands. Wolves typically play big teams well and the smaller teams not so well, but I like their chances on Saturday. Back Wolves to get three points.
