Borussia Dortmund vs Hertha Berlin – 06/06/20 – Bundesliga Odds, Preview & Prediction

There are a few good games on the Bundesliga schedule this weekend and one of the more interesting ones will take place on Saturday June 6, 2020 when Borussia Dortmund hosts Hertha Berlin. This game will air live on FS2, TUDN, and Unimas at 12:00 p.m. EST. Both teams have been impressive since the restart and are both capable of getting three points on Saturday.

Borussia Dortmund enter matchday 30 in second place and seven points back of first place Bayern Munich. Dortmund are closer to dropping to the Europa League spot than they are winning the title, so they still need to stack some wins together. Borussia Dortmund are just two points ahead of third place RB Leipzig and four points ahead of fourth place Borussia Monchengladbach and fifth place Bayer Leverkusen.

Hertha Berlin have been one of the hotter teams since the restart and now find themselves in a Europa League spot contention. Hertha sit in ninth place, on 38 points, and are just four points behind sixth place Wolfsburg.

Below is my pick for the Bundesliga action between Borussia Dortmund and Hertha Berlin. All odds are from BetMGM Sportsbook.

Borussia Dortmund (-290) vs Hertha Berlin (+650) Draw (+470)

Borussia Dortmund visited bottom of the table Paderborn last weekend and did exactly what they should have done; throttled them. It was 0-0 at the half, but Dortmund erupted for six second half goals, three from Jadon Sancho, to win 6-1. Borussia Dortmund have now won three of four since the restart but lost the most important one of the bunch – their home game against Bayern Munich. Dortmund are the second-best home club in Germany thanks to a 10-3-1 record and 33 points.

Hertha Berlin faced fringe relegation candidate Augsburg last weekend and came away with a straightforward 2-0 victory. Javairo Dilrosum netted a goal in the 23rd minute to make it 1-0 and then Krzysztof Piatek added an insurance goal in the 93rd minute to give Hertha the two-goal win. The Berlin club are unbeaten since the restart with three wins and a road draw at RB Leipzig. Hertha Berlin are the eighth best road club in Germany thanks to a 6-5-3 record and 23 points.

Series History: Since 2006, these two clubs have met 27 times and it is Borussia Dortmund who holds a 13-8-6 advantage. Dortmund won this reverse fixture 2-1 in late November.

Game Prediction: I am intrigued by Hertha Berlin in this one, but I am still going to back Borussia Dortmund in this one.

2020 Results: 42-34
