The online poker world can be crowded and picking out which app you want to use can be challenging. That begs the question, which is better 888 or PartyPoker?
Here at ATS, we pride ourselves on bringing you the most detailed and comprehensive reviews in the industry and we feel like we are positioned well to answer questions like this.
For those that don’t know, PartyPoker has been around a long time. It correctly calls itself a “pioneer” of online poker and serves are one of the highest-trafficked and most popular poker hubs. There are some features and methods of gameplay unique to PartyPoker that we’ll get to in a little bit. PartyPoker offers so many prize drawings, freerolls, and special tournaments to give all of its users a chance to add a little bit of extra money to their bankrolls.
We used to know 888 Poker as Pacific Poker in the United States. When Black Friday happened in 2011, everything changed. Now 888 Poker is back operating in the US under the new name and remains a trusted and popular poker client for its users.
There are so many features that are great between these two apps. The gameplay is smooth with both interfaces and all of the same game types are available at both. You can play cash games and tournaments with all sorts of different stakes and buy-ins. You can play big tournaments, satellites, and Sit-N-Go tournaments.
Both sites also have their own spins on turbo games. PartyPoker has its online casino and fast-forward feature, which is the deciding factor between the two apps and websites. With fast-forward, you sit down at a table and get dealt a hand. You can play that hand or you can “forward fold” and be transferred to another table to start with a brand new hand. Fastforward basically allows you to be extremely selective with the hands that you play. You can sit at up to four fast forward tables at a time and keep searching for those big hands of aces or kings.
PartyPoker also has WPT events like the WPT Online Borgata Series!
888 Poker has its Sit & Go Blast, where you can choose from a variety of Sit-N-Go tournaments that are Turbo, Super Turbo, Bounty, Double or Nothing, or Knockout tournaments. PartyPoker has all of those, too, in their own way. The innovative and trailblazing fast forward games are one of the biggest reasons why we prefer PartyPoker to 888 Poker.
Deposits and withdrawals are pretty much similar between the two clients.
Both sites also do allow users to try things out with play money, so maybe you’d like to see for yourself, but we are confident that you will also side with PartyPoker.
