Key Storylines
One of the most important storylines in this matchup is the return of Cardinals starting quarterback Kyler Murray. Murray had missed the previous two games with a foot injury. His return provides Arizona with a much-needed spark on offense. Jacoby Brissett wasn’t terrible in the place of Murray, but Brissett is not as mobile a quarterback and Murray’s return could help them to snap a five-game losing streak.
The Cowboys’ offense has been humming this season. They are averaging 30.8 points per game and approximately 2.79 points per drive. That offensive firepower is being offset by a defense that allows an average of 31.3 points per game and is ranked among the worst in yardage allowed in the NFL this season. Dallas’ defense has to be better if the Cowboys want any chance of climbing the NFC standings and getting to the postseason.
Quarterback Play
Kyler Murray’s return is huge news for Arizona. He has thrown for 962 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions. He also leads the Cardinals in rushing with 173 yards and his return opens up several avenues for the Cardinals to generate offense.
Dallas’ Dak Prescott has thrown for just over 2,000 yards, 16 touchdowns, and five touchdowns. He has been moving the ball very effectively through the air, primarily to George Pickens and CeeDee Lamb. But without some improvement from the Dallas defense, Prescott’s explosive play through the air will continue to be for nothing for the Cowboys.

Final Thoughts
No matter who wins this game, I think that we are going to see a high-scoring game in Arlington. The Cowboys have been very good offensively and horrible defensively throughout the season. That should continue in this game, especially if Kyler Murray comes back and looks anything like his usual self. I’ll take the over and cheer for a high-scoring game on both sides from Jerry World.
