Erin Blanchfield vs JJ Aldrich Fight Odds
Erin Blanchfield -535 vs JJ Aldrich
Fight is at 125 lbs and is +190 to end inside the distance.
Erin Blanchfield remains one of the highest ceiling up and coming prospects on the entirety of the UFC roster. She just celebrated her 23rd birthday last month, and already owns a pair of absolutely dominant wins in the promotion. The win over Sarah Alpar in her debut was completely expected. The dominant win over Miranda Maverick in the follow up was not as expected and it announced to the world just how real she is. The Maverick matchup is a difficult one for women at or near the very top of the division, and Blanchfield rolled to a 30-27 decision win. 12 minutes of top control time for her in that fight.

Blanchfield’s striking is slowly catching up with her wrestling and grappling games. Those attributes are already elite. Her striking should be about even with her opponent in this matchup, but we will not see a great deal of striking take place. Through 30 minutes of fight time in the octagon, she has notched 10 takedowns and gathers nearly 22 minutes of control time. She is already becoming an irresistible force that wills fights exactly where she wants them. She is different than say a Tatiana Suarez, but the same. Blanchfield does not have the same wrestling as Suarez, but she is skilled and is ahead of Suarez on the BJJ side. She is going to take down and maul every woman in her path until she is matched with an elite grappler. Even then it is only questionable.
Tough Spot For Aldrich
JJ Aldrich is a solid striker, and without being disrespectful to her, this matchup is going to be brutal. Aldrich is actually getting credit and this betting line is not longer because of her performance in her most recent fight against Gillian Robertson. That fight only went to the floor once and Aldrich won a decision. However there are huge differences between Blanchfield and Robertson. Robertson is very good once she moves to a dominant position, but does not have nearly the same wrestling ability. She also does not have the strength and ability to force the fight where she wants it like Blanchfield. Aldrich will try to replay that last fight but will find little success. She will be taken down early and put in terrible positions for huge amounts of time.
While Blanchfiled has been nearly perfect in two UFC starts, she has not yet notched a finish. This is not lost on the oddsmakers and her ITD line comes at a somewhat insane +240. Don’t think for a second this is not lost on her. She is going to be hunting submissions and dropping ground and pound for the better part of 15 minutes. That finish is coming for her, and it is coming in this fight. Let’s start the night off right with the +240 return of Blanchfield ITD.
