Toronto Argonauts vs Winnipeg Blue Bombers Betting Preview
It’s not as though the Grey Cup needs any additional drama, although that’s what happened with the status of Winnipeg quarterback Zach Collaros up in the air. Collaros led the league with 37 TD passes, so his absence would be a big one. Collaros missed the team’s first practice of the week on Wednesday due to his ankle. The Blue Bombers are trying to win their third Grey Cup in a row.
As expected, Winnipeg is saying as little as possible, but if Collaros can’t go, Dru Brown, who fans may remember from his days at Oklahoma State will get the starting nod. In limited playing time this season, Brown has looked good, throwing for five TDs and two interceptions, while going 33 of 50 passing for 452 yards. He also rushed for three touchdowns on 19 carries.
The Argonauts don’t have any questions at quarterback, as Mcleod Bethel-Thompson has become the team leader. His 4,731 yards led the CFL this season and he threw 23 TD passes. He was picked off 15 times, however. Toronto likes to run the ball and has a decent tandem of Andrew Harris and A.J. Ouellette but the Bombers can be tough to run against, allowing a league low 86.05 yards per game.
The Argonauts’ defense doesn’t get a whole lot of attention, but they got the job done this season and are a little better than average. They’ll have to do a better job against the run in the Grey Cup, especially if Collaros doesn’t go, as the Bombers will give Toronto a steady dose of Brady Oliviera out of the backfield.

Toronto vs Winnipeg Pick & Prediction
The Blue Bombers have the better defense, but it’s a question of Brown being able to handle the pressure if he starts at quarterback. There’s no reason to think he can’t, as he has a much better surrounding cast than the Argonauts do. The quarterbacks get the attention, but teams get the wins, so will have to grab the better team.
