The WNBA season has not been all that kind to the Atlanta Dream and Dallas Wings. But someone has to win when these struggling teams face off in the first of three games on the WNBA schedule on Friday night. Here, we make our WNBA predictions for Dream vs Wings from Arlington.

Atlanta Dream
The Atlanta Dream have a record of 7-11 for the season, which is still good for seventh place in the league standings this year. But the Dream are struggling mightily of late, with injuries playing a major role in their issues. Atlanta should be without Rhyne Howard, Jordin Canada, and Aerial Powers tonight, which could limit their ability to win tonight’s Dream vs Wings matchup.
Even without those three dynamic players on the perimeter, the Dream can’t be fully counted out in this game. They still have Allisha Gray to lead them at the guard spots. Gray was named an All-Star this year and has plenty of experience making winning plays for this Atlanta team. While a win won’t be easy by any means for the Dream tonight, it is certainly possible as long as Gray and Tina Charles are on the floor.
Dallas Wings
The Dallas Wings are having a nightmare of a season. They are 4-16 on the year, putting them in last place in the WNBA standings in 2024. Dallas is favored to come away with a win tonight over a short-handed Atlanta Dream team. But with the way the Wings have played over the course of this season, there is no telling what kind of performance we are going to get from Dallas tonight.
For the Wings, taking advantage of their size is going to be a huge key in this contest. Teaira McCowan and Natasha Howard are simply bigger than the frontcourt of the Dream, which features power forwards more than centers. But the Wings have not been good about prioritizing their interior play this year and that could come back to bite them once again tonight.
