Key Storylines
- Colts offense clicking: Indianapolis leads the league in points per game (32.3) and features a ground game powered by Jonathan Taylor. The Chargers’ run defense has allowed multiple 100-yard rushers in recent weeks and they will need to key in on Taylor to win this matchup
- Home-field advantage: The Chargers are slight home favorites. Los Angeles is 2-1 at home on the season, though they lost their last home game to the Washington Commanders when Jayden Daniels returned to the field for the visitors.
- Edge in momentum: The Colts enter 5-1 and have won two in a row, while the Chargers just snapped a two-game skid with a win in Miami. Momentum is on Indy’s side but they will have to prove themselves all over again this week.
Quarterback Play
Daniel Jones has been efficient for Indianapolis, showing good decision-making and benefiting from the presence of a strong rushing attack that takes pressure off him. He has thrown for over 1,500 yards with eight touchdown passes and just three interceptions. The Colts’ offensive line has also done a solid job protecting him.
Justin Herbert is elite when healthy. In the Chargers’ Week 6 win over Miami, he completed 76.3% of his passes for 264 yards and two touchdowns. He is up to 10 touchdown passes to four interceptions for the season. The Chargers will lean heavily on Herbert to overcome their deficiencies elsewhere.

Final Thoughts
This is going to be a very close game between two teams that we could see in the playoffs this season in the AFC. It is going to come down to which quarterback does the best job of delivering in key passing downs and avoids turnovers the most effectively. I think that quarterback will be Justin Herbert and that the Chargers will get the win on their home turf. I’ll lay the points with Los Angeles in what should be a fun game from Inglewood.
