Key Storylines
One huge narrative in this game is the quarterback situation for Cleveland. Shedeur Sanders is expected to make his first NFL start. He came in during relief last week after Dillon Gabriel entered concussion protocol. Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski now has to trust Sanders, despite his very limited reps with the first team and a rocky debut where he went 4/16 for 47 yards with an interception against the Baltimore Ravens.
Geno Smith remains the starter at quarterback for the Raiders. He has thrown 12 interceptions this season and is trying to lift a Las Vegas team that has been inconsistent, thanks in large part to his lack of consistency. The Raiders have failed to score 20 points in three of their last four games. They enter this contest on a four-game losing streak and Smith has to play better in order to end that losing streak.
Neither team has been firing on all cylinders offensively. The Browns average just 16.2 points per game, while the Raiders average 15.4 points per game. These lackluster numbers reflect sloppy, inefficient performances on both sides, which makes the low total of 36.5 points for this contest make a lot of sense.

Final Thoughts
If you are expecting an exciting game due to the on-field product, you are not going to enjoy this matchup between the Browns and Raiders. This game will be dripping with intrigue, as Sanders makes his first career start. But I think we’re in for a poor performance from both him and Geno Smith. I’ll lay the points with the Raiders, but I don’t feel strongly about either team delivering in this game.
