Key Storylines
- Clemson lost in their only real test of the year against LSU at home. They won by double-digits against Troy to get to 1-1 on the season and the Tigers will try to get above .500 for the first time this season on Saturday.
- Georgia Tech is 2-0 after beating Colorado in their opener and FCS Gardner-Webb in their second game. Haynes King missed last week’s game against Gardner-Webb due to injury but could return in this game.
- This is the first road game of the year for Clemson after they hosted LSU and Troy. How Cade Klubnik and the rest of the Tigers handle a hostile environment will be very interesting to watch in this contest.
Quarterback Play
Cade Klubnik remains Clemson’s veteran quarterback. He is averaging 213 passing yards per game and has two touchdowns and two interceptions. He has to improve that touchdown to interception ratio for Clemson to be a more competitive team against elite teams as the season goes on. He could struggle with that with games against ACC competition coming up.
Haynes King was the difference for Georgia Tech in Boulder against Colorado. He threw for 143 yards and piled up up 156 rushing yards and three rushing touchdowns. King being available for this game will be a huge key for the Yellow Jackets as they take on the toughest competition they have faced so far this season.

I expect this to be a very close game. Clemson hasn’t been impressive offensively yet this year and I don’t think that their conference opener on the road will be the time we see them break out on that side of the ball. Clemson should win this contest, but I’m going to take the points with Georgia Tech in what should be around a field goal game from Atlanta.
