There are a lot of important college football games on the schedule on Black Friday. The matchup between the Air Force Falcons and Colorado State Rams is not one of those games. Both teams have struggled mightily this year and will bring their campaigns to a merciful end after this game between in-state rivals in the Mountain West Conference. Before kickoff, I’ve made my Air Force vs Colorado State prediction, which can be found below.
Our Air Force vs Colorado State Pick
- Pick: Air Force Falcons –2.5
- Confidence: ★★★☆☆

Game Snapshot
| Matchup: | Air Force Falcons vs Colorado State Rams |

Key Storylines
- Rivalry Renewed: Air Force leads the all-time series 39–22–1 and holds a significant edge in conference games between these teams. Despite Colorado State’s win in 2024, the Falcons have won four straight meetings at Canvas Stadium since 2017.
- Ram–Falcon Trophy on the line: The 2025 edition of this rivalry marks the 45th playing of the game for the Ram-Falcon Trophy. Both teams are trying to find a solid ending to what has been a disappointing season by winning a trophy, even if it isn’t a championship trophy.
- Colorado State turmoil: The Rams will be without redshirt freshman quarterback Darius Curry, who was suspended following a spitting incident in their loss to the Boise State Broncos. Backup quarterback Jackson Brousseau is expected to start, but that distraction can’t be a good thing for a team that is already struggling.
Quarterback Play
The Air Force offense relies heavily on the run game and ball control. Quarterback Liam Szarka has thrown for 1,294 yards this season, with 9 touchdowns and 5 interceptions. But the Falcons’ ground game remains their bread-and-butter, continuing a streak of consecutive 100-yard rushing games that is now at 96 straight weeks.
Jackson Brousseau will start at quarterback for Colorado State. Brousseau has thrown for 1,031 yards with 7 touchdowns and 3 interceptions. The Rams had a hard time getting their passing game going throughout this season and clearly missed Tory Horton after he left for the NFL.
Betting Trends
- Both of these teams are 4-7 against the spread so far this season.
- Air Force has gone over the total in 6 of their 11 games going into Friday afternoon.
- The under has hit in 7 of the 11 games for Colorado State thus far.
Air Force vs Colorado State Model Projection
Score Projection: Air Force 24 – Colorado State 17
Win Probability: Air Force 60%, Colorado State 40%
Final Thoughts
This is going to be one of the uglier games on the Friday college football schedule. I don’t mean that in terms of the expected margin of victory, but rather because of the quality of both teams on offense. I am going to lay the points with Air Force in this game, but I don’t feel all that confident in either of these teams based on what we’ve seen from them this year.
