Tennessee Titans Betting Preview
The Tennessee Titans no longer look like a legitimate Super Bowl contender after some roster upheaval and a down year last season. With Derrick Henry gone, Tennessee will have to figure out a new way forward offensively, while they have opted to replace head coach Mike Vrabel as well. Whether or not those moves work out for them remains to be seen in 2024. Here, we give you our Tennessee Titans season preview and make our pick for the new-look Titans in the season win total market.

Offseason Transactions
Key Additions: Mason Rudolph, Tony Pollard, Tyler Boyd, Calvin Ridley, Lloyd Cushenberry, Sebastian Joseph-Day, Chidobe Awuzie, L’Jarius Sneed
Key Departures: Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry, Andre Dillard, Chris Hubbard, Denico Autry, Azeez Al-Shaair, Sean Murphy-Bunting, K’Von Wallace, Terrell Edmunds
The Titans didn’t have a horrible offseason even if Derrick Henry is no longer with the team. The Titans replaced Henry with Tony Pollard, who has been productive as a member of the Dallas Cowboys. They also added a couple of nice secondary pieces in Chidobe Awuzie and L’Jarius Sneed. But losses of players like Denico Autry and Azeez Al-Shaair will undoubtedly hurt Tennessee even if they did rack up some wins in the offseason.
Tennessee Titans Offensive Stats
2023 (Rank) | 2022 (Rank) | |
---|---|---|
Yards Per Play | 4.9 (T-26th) | 5.1 (T-23rd) |
Yards Per Rush Attempt | 4.2 (T-14th) | 4.4 (T-16th) |
Yards Per Pass Attempt | 7.1 (T-14th) | 7.1 (T-10th) |
Points Per Game | 17.9 (T-27th) | 17.5 (28th) |
Turnovers | 20 (T-14th) | 23 (T-17th) |
As expected, there were some growing pains for the Titans on offense last season as they transitioned from Ryan Tannehill to Will Levis at quarterback. Levis should be the man under center this year and the team’s progression on offense will hinge largely on how he plays that position. Tony Pollard shouldn’t be as big a dropoff at running back as many expect there to be post-Derrick Henry, but this group’s success will rest on their quarterback play.
Tennessee Titans Defensive Stats

Points Per Game Allowed | 21.6 (16th) | 21.1 (T-13th) |
Takeaways | 14 (31st) | 20 (T-20th) |
Tennessee was largely average on defense in 2023 despite being forced to play more snaps thanks to a bad offense. This year could go either way for the Titans on defense, as they both brought in some talent and also let some key players get away in the offseason. But no matter who is on the field for the Titans this season, they need to do a better job of generating takeaways on defense, as they simply did not put their offense in enough sudden change situations for success.
Positives & Negatives
Some quarterback continuity is a big positive for the Titans going into the 2024 NFL season. They managed to get Will Levis some much-needed experience last season so that he could go into his second training camp with game reps under his belt. That should be beneficial going into a year where he will need to prove himself without Henry to hand the ball off to.
But there are so many moving parts around Levis this year that it could be hard for the Titans to enjoy success. A new coach in Brian Callahan takes over a team whose defense looks very different than it did a season ago. That is not normally a recipe for success, though anything is possible in a league as volatile as the NFL.
2024 Tennessee Titans Win Total Prediction: Under 6.5 Wins
Do we expect the Tennessee Titans to be one of the worst teams in the NFL this season? No, they should be a respectable club. But we still expect them to stay under their season win total of 6.5, thanks to the concerns surrounding their defense and the fact that Will Levis hasn’t proven that he can be a truly good starting quarterback in the league just yet.
